	Winner of World Bank DM2006 Winner of World Bank DM2006! In Washington DC on May 9th 2006 the prize winners of the annual worldwide Development Marketplace competitions were announced. From the 2593 applications, IaW was selected together with our partner Resource Development International (RDI) (www.rdic.org) and rewarded with funds for implementation our Rope Pump project. The US$92,000 will be used for setting up the Rope Pump factory, a water quality and arsenic mitigation study and setting up 2 leasing cycles. Implementation of the project will start in July 2006. Update 2010 The water pump factory manufactures 2 types of rope pumps and 8 staff have fulltime jobs. There are over 2500 pumps installed in Cambodia (May-2010) and our designs are shared with North Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Morocco, Kenya, and Tanzania. The factory is close to break-even point and a full Cambodian management is in place.
